Hello friends,

And now on to the main theme of our post today.
Who does not like dressing up and decking up best of jewellery !!! well !! I certainly do ; I need a new piece with each of my dresses and love to try out funky designser jewellery.
What if I say that now you can make your own jewellery according to your own dress code and style.. be it bracelets, hoops, neck pieces and what not. Not true !!!!! Of course it is true !!!!
I have brought for you some amazing dies that will help you create most beautiful costume accessories in just no time.
Well !!!!!! here is the JEWELLERY MAKING DIE FROM ELIZABETH CRAFT DESIGNS and along with it are many coordinating things that will help you to create many many styles and designs of your choice.

Today , I am here with a chic bracelet that will look too cool for any evening party. I made this in just an hour or so and simply loved the final product. In fact, my daughter whacked it from me right after she saw it and very happily gave me her hand to show off the piece.

Here are some quick instructions to make this.

Cut out diecuts from the Elizabeth Crafts Design Jewelry 1 Sea Glass from the ice blue Gemstone shimmer paper of the same brand. You get many colours in one pack hence these are good value for money and even gives one a choice of colours.
Stick two similar diecuts on one another using Art Glitter Glue. This gives thickness and durability to your piece. Do this to all the die cuts.
Next, put all the diecuts in any embossing folder that you have and pass through the die cutting machine. Crafters Corner has a wide range of embossing folders to choose from. Now you have your etched jewellery pieces that can combined with many accessories like charms, pearls, chains and many more to create jewellery of your choice. I have made holes on the die cuts using crop-a dile
and attached it to two chains with help of jump rings. Along with them , I have also added charms and pearls with hooks. Finally , I secured it with silver clasp.

So I hope you liked this super cool jewellery piece designed by me. There are other varieties of jewellery making die from Elizabeth Crafts Design in the store that you will surely love.
So if you love wearing funky accessories, then now its no looking back. Make a piece every day to suit your style and whats best is all the supplies for your creation is available under one roof-Crafters Corner.

Over the next few days, I will be playing with more such dies and bring for you many more amazing designs

Decoupaging on Plastic Tutorial and Liquid Leaf

Decoupaged Box
Hi crafters Dr Sonia here to share a 2nd project with Liquid Leaf .Sharing a mini tutorial on decoupaging a plastic container  with  gorgeous  Bob n Betty papers .I  jazzed up the edges of the container with fabulous  Copper Liquid Leaf to bring out a uniform and rich metallic copper theme to the project.
Heartfelt creations Botanical Wings  flowers
The flowers were made by heat embossing in copper some Heartfelt creations Botanical Wings  stamps.
Heat Embossed Flower
The heat embossed parchment flowers were randomly inked with Distress Inks to match the colors of the florals in the pattern paper.
Pearls placed with Crystal Katana
I have been adding lots of tiny pearls to my projects ever since I got the Crystal Katana as its so quick and easy!
Crystal Katana and Tanto
Used the Crystal Katana to add the pearls on the edges of the paper and on the tiny plastic butterflies
Crystal Katana in Action
I used the  Made in India Ornate Annie papers designed by the talented Deepika Sharma and which is sold exclusively at Crafters Corner .
Bob N Betty Pattern Papers
Here is the plastic container I altered by decoupaging
Altered Project
For anyone wishing to start decoupage these are the Basic tools of the trade!
Decoupaging on Plastic Tutorial
  1. Decoupage Glue- most popular is Modpodge
  2. Scissors - normal and fine if you want to fuzzy cut pictures to decoupage
  3. Scale- to measure out the sides of your projects and pattern paper
  4. Pen/ pencil to help mark your pattern paper and cut
  5. Squeegee- I have used a different type of plastic squeegee in my Sospeso Trasparente projects which is rather nice but totally in love with the squeegee in the Mod podge kit because of its rubbery nature and wedge spage at its ends which allows one to reach awkward nooks and corners like I will show in the subsequent pictures
  6. Not shown in the picture : Sanding / distressing tool and
  7. Brushes to apply modpodge - use sponge brushes or regular brushes
Decoupaging on Plastic Tutorial
Measure your project and cut pattern paper to line it. I personally like to cut slightly less than the dimension of the side to be covered as I hate to later sand down and cut the paper once it is stuck to a project.

Decoupaging on Plastic Tutorial
If your plastic is super smooth ,sand it to give it a grip .
Apply decoupage glue using a brush as shown above[ the brush I am using above comes with the Plaid Decoupage Kit] - dont add too much glue as it will just wrap and wrinkle your paper.
Decoupage kit
Stick on your pattern paper starting from one end of your project.
Decoupaging on Plastic Tutorial
You get the best results on decoupaging if you remove excess glue from under you paper and here comes the advantage of having a squeegee. Use the squeegee to firmly but gently [ too much force and you will slide your paper off the project!] slide over your paper and the excess glue will come out from the edge of the paper at the end and you can simply wipe it off.
Decoupaging on Plastic Tutorial
Using the squeegee you can easily slide into corners which are otherwise difficult to reach as you can see in the picture below.
Decoupaging on Plastic Tutorial
I have used the squeegee  to get a proper adhesion of the pattern paper in the depths of the container I was lining .
Decoupaging on Plastic Tutorial
Once the paper had dried you can give a top coat of mod podge if you wish and later seal it off with a varnish if you want.
Decoupaged Container
Notice the uncovered rather unsightly looking exposed edges of plastic  in the project photo above-- well I could line it with paper but that would involve quite  a bit of hard work so I took the easier and more fun way out by painting the edges with Liquid Leaf .
Liquid Leaf
I have already introduced you to this amazing product Liquid Leaf in the post her e: Metallic effects with Liquid Leaf
Liquid Leaf
You can see the beautiful metallic shimmer of the paint in the pictures above and below.
Liquid Leaf
I used a thin brush to paint the edges of the container using Copper Liquid Leaf and added matching flowers with Copper heat embossing!

And here is how the decoupaged container looks from the side

I hope you liked this decoupaged project with Liquid Leaf painting.

MOD PODGE CRACKLE MEDIUM

Good Morning Friends

This is Isha here today!! Hope you all doing good :)
Today I am here to do a quick product review on MOD PODGE CRACKLE MEDIUM

Mod podge crackle medium :Add a crackled coat to the Mod Podge on the top of your project. You’ll need to add a contrasting paint color over the top to make it show up – but you’ll like the finished look.
Result: Ultra fine, eggshell crackle.
I hope you all have an idea now what this product is all about. I have quick and easy pictorial for you all, Lets get started :

I have taken Mod Podge Crackle medium and some Folk art acrylics colors

And you can never get enough of COLLAGE CLAY goodness, I have used mine strawberry collage clay with folk art Magenta color and Chevron stencil to make some fun background,
I have taken some clay on craftsheet and added few drops of acrylic color

Here is some textured goodness with collage clay

Now lastly I have applied generous amount of Mod Podge Crackle medium. You got to be cautious while applying crackle medium, make sure you move your foam brush in one single direction.

Voila!!
Can you see the eggshell cracks..
I have allowed it to dry for more then 24 hours.
Once dried I have distressed the surface with  spun sugar distress inks and wiped the excess ink with the help of an tissue.

With Mod Podge crackle medium you can apply to any surface and get this cool aged crackle effect.
Have made this card using the crackle medium

"Metallic" Effects with Liquid Leaf - Mini Book

Liquid Leaf Projects
Hi crafters...this post is about a gorgeous product called "Liquid Leaf "which helps you to add wonderful metallic effects to any article be it metal, glass, ceramic, clay, wood, canvas etc .
Liquid Leaf
It is a versatile special effects paint from the famous company Plaid[ the manufacturers of Modpodge]
Liquid Leaf
I chose to use it to decorate a mini book I made using the new Made in India Bob N Betty Papers  Ornate Annie stack being sold exclusively at Crafters Corner.
Mini Book Tutorial
The mini book covers were made using pattern paper and chipboard with the help of red tacky tape.
Mini Book
If you are interested in the detailed steps here are the

Here is the link to the video tutorial  : Mini Book video tutorial
Mini Book
Used whipped spackle and a stencil to create a subtle texture on the book cover.
whipped spackle
I wanted to keep the beautiful papers visible so didnt over embellish!

Liquid Leaf
Now coming to Liquid Leaf ...what is it ?
In simple language Liquid Leaf is a paint ...but not the regular acrylic paint. Here are some salient features
  • It is thin and free flowing
  • It is highly concentrated yet free flowing and can be thinned and used or used per se
  • It can be diluted with xylene and put in a spray paint gun to use as a spray paint
  • It can be diluted and filled into a lettering pen for delicate elegant lettering!
  • The metallic effects are fantastic as the paint actual contains real metal ...eg the copper  paint contains Copper!
  • If you are going to use it on a porous surface such as canvas...prime it first with a normal paint basecoat
Liquid Leaf
For the first product demo I tried Liquid Leaf with a variety of surfaces
  • clay- the yellow bow was made using air drying clay
  • metal- the small butterfly charm
  • pearl- the flat backed pearls you see above
  • wood- the chipboard frame you see below
Chipboard alteration with Liquid Leaf
The picture below shows the open Liquid Leaf bottle  with the gorgeous copper paint shimmering!
Liquid Leaf
It was super easy to use...just dip a regular paint brush onto the lid or paint bottle and  paint your object....what I especially liked about it is that it is thin and free flowing so it was so easy to get a full coverage of the tiny areas of an embellishment!
Liquid Leaf on mini book
Painting even the  detailed scrolls of the chipboard frame hardly took any time at all!
Liquid Leaf
I have not added anything else on this book cover as I wanted the copper to shine through!
Liquid Leaf
All the tiny pearls on the frame were added using my new tool the Crystal Katana [ boy does this new toy make crafting with tiny pearls fun!]
Crystal Katana and Tanto
Another word : the Tanto is the cheaper version of the two pick up tools and personally I like both but my young daughter claims Crystal Katana is superior !
And here is a video of her using the Crystal Katana to add pearls to the chipboard frame

Liquid Leaf
See how the Liquid Leaf totally changed the look of the clay bow! It looks so different doesnt it!
Liquid Leaf
The Liquid Leaf painted pearls were transformed to look like copper knobs!
I also tried the copper Liquid Leaf on a clear resin embellishment and got a beautiful copper metallic look as you can see below
Mini book with Liquid Leaf
And here is the mini book with a resin crown and  copper embellishments all around!
Mini book with Liquid Leaf
Cleaning your brushes after using them with Liquid Leaf requires a "thinner' like the one you would use with your normal home painting projects as it is not a water washable paint.
Liquid Leaf
This little bottle of  Liquid Leaf packs quite a punch and I have made quite a few projects using it including the decoupaged container in the collaged picture...will be sharing more tutorials in the weeks to come.

Here are the list of Supplies :
Liquid Leaf Copper
